Our History
A Legacy Built on Strength and Integrity
Ferrier Wire, founded in 1912, initially specialized in general wire goods. In 1917, Ernest Lake acquired the company, and it remained under the Lake family’s ownership until 1978 when the Wiebeck family took over.
The company evolved from manufacturing wire products to focusing on wire mesh in the 1960s, later expanding into perforated metals and design-patterned expanded metal. Investments in advanced equipment enhanced its capabilities. Today, Ferrier Wire + Design Metals stocks one of Canada’s largest selections of wire mesh, offers custom weaving and fabrication, and continues to grow its range of architectural and design products through a global supply network.
